As long as you're breathing, your story's still going!" Nightmares haunt the dreams of Dervish Grady since his return from the Demonata universe, but Grubbs takes care of his uncle as they both try to continue a normal, demon-free existence. When a legendary cult director calls in Dervish as consultant for a new horror movie, it seems a perfect excuse for a break from routine and a chance for some fun. But being on the set of a town called Slawter stirs up more than memories for Grubbs and his friend Bill-E.

great horror series (2008-08-29)

From the first moment in book one, Lord Loss, when Grubbs Grady encounters the Demonata and their evil minions it is obvious to the reader that Darren Shan books are from a different dimension. You really have to read them with an open mind, and a slightly twisted one too! The heroes are constantly changing, from Grubbs in book one to Kernel Fleck in book two, back to Grubbs in three and then Bec in some of the later episodes. Whoever is in charge you can absolutely guarantee a frightening ride through another world, which Shan depicts so very well. As far as teenage horror goes this is about as entertaining as it gets. You cannot compare it to the real horror masters, such as James Herbert, Shaun Hutson, Brian Keene or Conrad Jones, but they are truly entertaining, even though the storylines are flimsy to say the least, they are still excellent reading.
Slawter review (2008-06-18)

The book takes off where Lord Loss ended, with Grubbs, Bill-E and Dervish Grady all try to live a normal life. Then a horror movie director invites them to come an join her as they film Slawter, the most realistic demon film ever. But who is this director really working for?Why are children going missing? And why are the Demons on set looking realistic... too realistic?Lord Loss is back, and wants revenge on Grubbs.BUY THE BOOK! It's brilliant.

I read this book in 1 day. It was that gripping. It is a "Must Read Book" for ages 10+. You will be thrilled by the way that it is written. I am glad that Darren Shan wrote this book.
Really good (2008-01-11)

Pleased to say that the third novel in the Demonata trilogy is just as good as the first 2! This time the story returns to Grubbs Grady (along with Bill-E and Dervish, of course). A famous horror movie director has heard about Dervishes collection of books about demons and wants his (and Grubb's) assistance in the making of her new movie - Slawter.Dervish, Grubbs and Bill-E arrive on the isolated movie site and as soon as the first scene is shot - a scene in which a boy is killed by a demon - Grubbs knows that there is a big problem with the movie...it's using real deomons!.Another brilliant entry in the Demonata Saga - so good I read it in one night. Highly reccommended.
