Book Description

AN INSPIRATIONAL STORY OF TRIUMPH OVER ADVERSITY
Synopsis

Millions know him as a loudmouth radio shock-jock and Sun columnist. Yet, in his life Jon Gaunt has had to overcome unimaginable hardship, solitude, bankruptcy and despair. His mother died suddenly when he was just twelve, his hard-drinking, womanising father abandoned him to suffer appalling treatment in a children's home. At twenty-eight, his business had a million pound turnover, but a stroke of fate caused catastrophe. Undaunted, Jon Gaunt has always fought back. Behind the outspoken media personality, this is the very human story of self-preservation, personal growth and forgiveness, told in Jon's inimitable forthright style.

self pitying (2008-09-03)

This book was poorly written. Another sun coloumnist who thinks he knows how to change the world,I found this book self indulgent, self pitying and down right disgusting. I wonder what his two daughters thought when he tells about his sexual experiance. Like the Daily mirror coloumnist Brian Reade, just another loud mouth moaning minnie.
I didn't think the Bible could be bettered... (2008-07-19)

Many years ago I was incredibly moved by a piece of literature that completely chaged my life. That was a book called The Holy Bible. Two weeks ago I was presented with another book as a get well present as I recuperated in hospital after having my leg removed from the knee down. I read the book in a couple of days and it felt like I had been visited by an Angel. I was reminded of the day I picked up the Bible and how it made me feel. The book I was presented with in that hospital was.....Undaunted. A moving masterpiece that reaffirms life for everyone. I was given hope by Jon Gaunt, although still without a leg, I feel more positive about life than when I had two legs. Jon Gaunt is inspirational and I wuld urge you all to read his book. Don't wait for a tragedy like mine.

I'm not a fan of Gaunt's show, but the book was useful in showing how such simplistic worldviews - and a desire to press them upon others - come about. Worth a few nights reading.
