A "must have" album! (2003-10-16)

I bought this, having had it recommended by Walter himself.

"Maries Mood" would have been enough reason for me to have bought it, but not one of the tracks (rockers, slow blues, stompers or ballads) are short of excellent. Walter's songwriting and delivery are stunning, even without a guitar in his hand, he can touch you with his words and vocals ("Let me be the one" is what I'm referring to)

This is not a guitar album aimed at guitarists... it's a fine album for anyone who enjoys good music written and played with feeling. Quite simply, you have to buy this CD!

16 different songs (2001-07-13)

That doesn't happen a lot, when an artist makes an record that consits of 16 different kinds or types of songs. Recorded in Mephis with producer extraordinary Jim Gaines PBS is an extraordinary album. Medium-slow bluesrock opener 'Got a broken heart' followed by accoustic and electric slow blues 'Obstacles in my way' followed by angry, mean uptempo(with his most excellent rhythmguitar parts) blues 'One Way Street' followed by softly and tender electric countrybluesstyle 'Tender Heart', the album shows many styles. Other outstanding tracks: rough raw rocky 'Hard time blues' with very well controled solo, beautiful soulsinging style and dedicated to his brother 'song for a wanderer' (first you will laugh when you here Trout'singing on this track, suddenly you will realize it's not so easy to sing like that) and the straight to your heart 'Let me be the one' with Trout on excellent vocals, only backed by piano. And two instrumentals: beautiful bandplaying on Marie's Mood (written during his wife Marie's difficult pregnancy) and the it gives you a tremendous sweet feeling (almost just like Peter Green's Albatross) albumcloser(but doesn't play it live, sadly enhough) 'Boo' (with only Trout on guitar). From all his record, to my opinion his most various and outstanding one. One of my favourite records
