Cool Film (2008-09-27)

This film i must say is not one of Slys best movies but still pretty good with some amusing one liners and some good action scenes especially at the begining. So basically all in all Cobra is a good movie and go buy it if your an action movie fan.,...

STALLONE MEETS MAD MAX! (2008-07-16)

1986 Action Classic! And one of Sly's most underrated movies, that deserved a sequel!Simple plot, maverick cop Marion Cobretti (Stallone) is assigned to protect a beautiful female witness from a cult of Neo-Nazi style supremacist bikers who are terrorising Los Angeles with a spate of brutal murders - You get it all here; a scene reminiscent of Halloween 2 , where the cult leader (a monster of a man known as The Night Slasher) goes on a Michael Myers style killing spree at the City's hospital, plenty of bloody shootouts and fights and a couple of superb Car & Bike chases that are second only to the Mad Max movies, in terms of violence and spectacle. Really, really good stunt work and special effects! Also, there's lots of firearms, including Cobretti's hi-tech, laser sighted Jatimatic submachinegun, well deployed throughout the many chases and firefights!All this is tightly directed (George P Cosmatos, Rambo 2), and sharply edited, with decent cinematography. Performances are fine for an action film, and this is very much a product of the late 80's in it's flashy lighting, camera angles and garish violence.I would definiteley shortlist this as one of the definitive 1980's action movies!Quite a decent AOR soundtrack too!There's elements of Slasher movies, Dirty Harry style cop movies and a strong feel of the Mad Max/Road Warrior genre in the stunning car chases and biker atacks.For fans of Mad Max 1&2, Stone Cold, The Terminator and the Lethal Weapon series...

Utterly brainless, violent thriller, starring Sylvester Stallone (as Marion Cobretti) as a tough brain-damaged cop who takes on the marauding members of a bizarre religious cult (who are apparently all killers) in a bid to rescue slutty model Brigitte Nielsen from the axe-wielding lunatic in charge. Ideal for anyone who has brain damage, or wants plenty of brain-dead gunfights and explosions, without having to worry about anything resembling a plot."Crime is a disease, I am the cure." An 80's classic (2007-08-07)

I personally feel old Stallone has taken, from time to time, some very harsh criticism for some of his films & acting ability's overtime. I mean come on have we ever been entertained more in a boxing classic other then the rocky's? Or have we ever had the pleasure to have been given an all time classic such as Rambo, Copland, Lockup, & lets not forget the famous 80's classic Cobra. Yes this movie can be classed as "cheesy" but come on it's the 80's for crying out loud, everything in the 80's was cheesy was it not? This film for me had everything in it: from action,suspense to top car racing scenes & shoot outs scenes, & also a fantastic soundtrack to go with it. For me cobra has got to be one of the best films Sylvester Stallone has ever done. A classic action film that has to be had!

Cool Everything except the film (2007-05-13)

Cool glasses, cool cover, cool look..sexy actress...yet this film has all gloss and no substance.This movie is based on Paula Gosling's self-titled novel, which Sylvester Stallone adapted it for the screen. At times, " Cobra " plays extremely cheesy and un-believable, especially in the action sequences ( for example, a bad guy fires TWICE at a tanker truck then it blows up ) and continuity errors, such as the damage to Cobra's vehicle during and after the chase scene near the end. I'd recommend this only for a boring, rainy day situation.
