Simon is a long-bearded hermit who in the dawning Christian age has abandoned the world and lives on a column in the middle of the desert. He is venerated as a saint, but the devil will torment him and won't resign, until Simon will fly with him to the New York of the Sixties to finally experiment the real life. Amazing poisonous movie full of dark humour, one of the best directed by Buñuel in the mexican years.
