Somewhat sexy escapism (2000-11-02)

If you are not looking for any deep analysis of the human psyche and enjoy a bit of escapism then you might enjoy this. Margarets marriage storyline is interesting, the fantasies and her writings come to life give it all a lightweight edge. All the performances are good but you end up wishing there was more to it. The script gets a bit cumbersome and it doesn't really feel as if the screenwriter ever reconciled all of the interwoven story elements. It would be interesting to read the book on which it was based for some insight. Overall a mindless and sexy fun romp.
