Synopsis

Stan and Ollie join the Foreign Legion so that Ollie can forget an unhappy romance.
As luck would have it, they become involved in attempting to smooth out the messy love affair between an officer and his fiancee. After being in the Legion for as long as they can take it, they want their normal lives back. Ollie insists on their release just as they realize they're going to be shot at sunrise for their rebelliousness. The pair attempt an escape via airplane. Lots of laughs, nostalgia, and action-packed stunts take place including a dance routine to "Shine on Harvest Moon."

Restored at last - Kino Video release (2007-05-24)

Laurel & Hardy - Flying Deuces DVD (Stonevision (2007-04-29)

A word of warning to people wanting to buy the Laurel & Hardy Flying Deuces DVD. The Stonevision DVD IS the remastered version. Several other reviewers have advised that the Stonevision release is poor, this is not true! Only the Stonevision one is watchable! It is a little dark in places and certainly shows it's age. Avoid the Elstree Hill release for example which looks so poor it's almost unwatchable.

not much value for your money (2000-07-16)

The package claims that this DVD is a restored version transferred from the original 35 mm camera nitrate negative. Lies! It is transferred from a version that has been played a lot of times, kables, scratches, noisy sountrack and unsharp picture. The only reason to buy this DVD is that it also contains "The tree in a test tube" and "Laurel &Hardy Home Movies" The picture quality of these home movies is very good.
