As with George Lucas' other movie franchise, there's a vein of mysticism running through Indiana Jones' big-screen adventures. Watching the trilogy back to back in this box set it's possible to unravel the chronology and chart the spiritual journey of our hero: the idealistic Young Indy ("It belongs in a museum", implores River Phoenix in the opening escapade of The Last Crusade) grows up to become a cynical fortune-hunter seen trading archaeological treasures with Chinese gangsters at club "Obi-Wan" in The Temple of Doom. From there we follow his path to redemption via three mystical religious objects: respectively Hindu (the Shankara stones in Temple of Doom), Jewish (the Ark of the Covenant in Raiders), and Christian (the Holy Grail itself in Last Crusade).
But that's just the subtext. Along the way, this knight-errant archaeologist undertakes improbable adventures (featuring spiders, snakes, rats, insects and Nazis galore), rescues damsels in distress (even when they don't want to be rescued, like Kate Capshaw in Temple of Doom) and still finds time to bond with his dad (Sean Connery, in one of cinema's great cameo roles as Dr Jones Sr.). Steven Spielberg revels in Lucas' recreation of 1930s cliffhanger serials, infusing every scene with kinetic energy and infectious enthusiasm, and creating any number of iconic sequences that have become touchstones of cinematic history (the opening of Raiders has been parodied innumerable times in everything from chocolate commercials to The Simpsons). Director and producer are more than ably assisted by regular composer John Williams, whose swashbuckling Korngold-inspired "Raiders" theme casts Harrison Ford as a modern-day Errol Flynn. Although a fourth movie has long been promised, this trilogy plays like a self-contained whole that leaves nothing wanting: from the witty dialogue and breathtaking action choreography to the near-perfect casting and lovingly detailed period production design, this is popular movie-making at its very peak. --Mark Walker
Synopsis
In 'Raiders Of The Lost Ark' Indiana Jones is assigned to find the mystically empowered Ark of the Covenant before the Nazis can obtain it for their own evil use. In 'Indiana Jones And The Temple Of Doom' Indiana goes in search of the Ankara Stone, but manages to free hundreds of children in the process. In 'Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade' the fearless archaeologist is once again pitted against the Nazis as he musters up every last ounce of courage and cunning to rescue his father and the Holy Grail.

Brilliant Absolutely Brilliant! (2002-12-31)  The films are superb as they are and they are just enhanced with this brilliant box set. A few great things about this set is you get interviews with George Lucas, Steven Spielberg and Harrison at the end of each film, the film quality has been digitally remastered and the sound, and the box that holds all the videos is nice too! So all in all well worth the money for any Indy fan!
SIMPLY THE BEST TRILOGY EVER! (2002-10-11) Well whatever people may think about Indiana Jones there is no denying that this is the best trilogy bar none! Harrison Ford was perfectly cast as the action hero with a smile! He is far better than James Bond as IJ humour is much funnier than JB, his action sequences are more exciting and plus, IJ does have fears! He hates snakes! Very rarely do we see a hero with a phobia! These are classic action/comdey/romance films that are pure class. My favourite is Last Crusade as it stars Sean Connery in one of the best cameos EVER! We also get to see the late great River Phoenix as a young Indiana and we see how it all started! Idiana dodges Nazi's, snakes, bullets, huge rolling rocks, cult mind control, treaturous women, bombs, spiders, demons from the Ark of the Covonet, and ancient curses from the Holy Grail! It's all rip-roaring stuff with a instantly recognisable musical score (better than star wars!)some real belly laughs, great action, and some dark and spooky spells and curses! Perfect for the winter nights with a nice mug of hot chocolate, for you to curl up with on the sofa! A must have for every video collection. One thing I will say is, it should be brought out on DVD! Even so, 5 stars just doesn't do it justice! (have you noticed that Harrison Ford is in the two greatest trilogy's of all time! Star Wars and Indiana Jones! Hmmm...bizarre!)
Classic viewing - The original Lara Croft! (2002-06-07) This is why we have Bank Holiday's. Classic viewing with humor, suspense, the good guy, the bad guys and of course...... the obligatory girl falling for Indie every time. All you have to do to enjoy these films, is switch off your negative chip Stop denying that you have ever pretended you were Indiana Jones with the whip and everything and enjoy them the way they should be enjoyed:- A cup of coffee/Tea a packet of digestives, feet on the sofa and away you go.One negative point..... Put them onto DVD!
Better than Star Wars by a mile. (2001-08-15) Along with The Godfather Trilogy this is the best movie threesome in cinema history. Raiders Of The Lost Ark is the definitive adventure film. It's a classic and it changed the film industry forever. Indiana Jones is easily the greatest action hero in films. Yes, even better than James Bond. All three movies are perfect. All are stuffed with tension, excitement, mystery and sly humour. Each film has many classic cinema moments. Raiders has the opening ball chase, Temple of Doom has the mine cart chase and The Last Crusade has God's tests. The Last Crusade is unbelievably funny as Indy teams up with his father played by Sean Connery which is comedy casting in itself. George Lucas said himself "Who better to play Indy's father than James Bond?" The two of them work together spectacularly and are so funny that this film could even be classed as a comedy more than anything. Temple of Doom is a completely different idea altogether. This movie is deeply atmospheric and extremely creepy as it deals with voodoo and cults. Harrison Ford is perfect as Indy and I couldn't imagine anyone else in the role. I shudder to think what would've happened if Tom Selleck had have been able to play him, he was under contract with a tv show thank god. Rumours are flying about everywhere about Indy 4. A script has even been finalised. Here's hoping it lives up to it's predecessors and that Harrison Ford is back in the role he was so obviously born to play.
indy jones the greatest hero of all time (2001-06-20) the indiana jones movies are the greatest thrill ride movies ever put on the screen.indiana jones has probably influenced more people to become archeologists than any other figure in reality or fiction. 1)raiders:a absolute kicka$$ of a movie i have seen this film a thousand times and it never gets boring no matter how many times i see it. 2)temple of doom:i am sick of hearing people put this this film down. its true it does bog down in the middle , but the start and the ending makes your money worth. 3)last crusade:a great,great,great film this is another film i have seen a thousand times. the film reinvents the best parts of raiders .harrison ford and sean connery are brilliant together. in conclusion i just want to say rollllllll on indy 4,5,6.......
