GENIUS (2007-08-10) This is quite definetely the funniest DVD i have ever seen in my life. Before watching it i had already seen all of Eddie's previous stand-up shows, and found them all hilarious, but after watching Dress To Kill i fell in love with the man. This show had me in stitches from start to finish, though I would say the funniest bits are when he is talking about British and American films, and the hilarious "cake or death" sketch. I also really enjoyed when he talks about his puberty as it is touching and funny, and the encore is also a highlight. I reccommend this DVD to everyone because to be honest I can't imagine anyone not finding it brilliantly funny.
Best Ever (2006-11-24) Sorry just a quick one - was in the car yesterday thinking about 'FIIIIVE GOOOOOLD RIIIIINGS' and laughing my a*se off. Death of Dinglebuns Slaptyback, Cake Or Death, Confirming and Denying during National Anthems. Take your pick.Funny from start to end.
Executive Transvestite (2006-08-30) Izzard is unrelentingly funny in this late 90's concert from San Francisco. There are laugh out loud moments nearly all the time and even having watched it more than a dozen times now it I still find it funny. Even when the material isn't that funny (which it can't be 100% of the time for everyone) I always find Eddie Izzard interesting to listen to. Underlying his comedy is an intelligent and thoughtful man. There are some good extra's, particularly if you speak French (as Izzard does)! Many of his shows are worth buying but this DVD catches him at a comedy peak. Sadly since then the shows have not been of the same quality but this one and the ones that precede it are all worth getting.
"Did I leave the gas on?....No I'm a &*$%ing! squirrel!!" (2006-05-28) Mr Izzard's tour de force, at this stage in his stand up career, no on else could touch him.A display of comic timing most people spend a lifetime trying to achieve. His material is both fresh and deeply funny. It really doesn't get much better than this.Think back to all those films of T.V programmes you watched and thought God, that's an hour and a half I'll never get back!Have no fear for this is what you have been waiting for!!!Those who were there to see the live shows, or bought the VHS tape first time round, will know exactly what I mean. There are few comedy peformers, that you are willing to purchase their back catalogue again on DVD.Enough said.
Brilliance in a DVD box (2004-11-23) Amazing! Not the first time I've seen Eddie, (I have "Unreapeatable" in VHS, also reccomened) and yet again I was impressed. His work is totally unique, the way you see his mind work, linking things together, moving from the opening scene in Alcatraz to how Steve Martin played the american role in "The Great Escape" every second will have you rolling in fits of laughter.
