Help! (2001-12-14)

I was dead excited by this game...at first, but I could only complete a tiny few of the missions. Not having a solid grasp of market economics, I soon needed help, however none is provided with regard to financial success 'manual' says you can click in options to request automatic financial dealing - sadly not true. Also there are a number of icons on the screen which I have no idea of their function. No help from the manual there either. So very frustrating indeed.

Best DC Strategy Game (2001-02-28)

If you are into strategy this is what the best DC has done untill know (Feb.2001). Its one of the only games that has actually improved in comparison to its PC version. After getting used to the interface and controls it becomes a pleasure to the eyes. I say eyes and I make sure not to include ears, for the audio in this baby is really disappointing. For example, you are laying track in Central Europe or expanding into South America and you still hear this country western tune in the background. Nevertheless, dont let that put you off for this is a really good title that once you get the hang of, it willwill keep you loading and creating trains for months.

I'm not usually a fan of strategy games, but after playing a demo of Railroad Tycoon 2, i decided to buy the game. I'm glad i did as it offers many missions, dating from the dawn of the steam engine, to the current day. Also to prevent the game from becoming boring, the missions get more difficult and always spring up new suprises. I particulary like the war based missions. The graphics are also very good for a strategy game, but the sound is terrible. The game oozes depth, although the interface can get tricky to negotiate with the pad, it is generally easy to get into. It may sound boring, but Railroad Tycoon 2 offers plenty of depth in an exciting package.
