Best game EVER (2005-02-05)

This is the best game ever without question! All the characters have there own unique profile and they actually are different. They differ from speed of the character to the ablilty to resist bullets (although there isn't a huge difference you can make it out) Also the graphics are really good and I don't care what anyone says the story line is the best ever to date. The character names are brilliant as well they really do sound as though they are real. There are two different campagins to choose from, the American or the Russian (which is slightly harder). Also a key feature of the game is being able to customise the vehicles before making them and there is man combinations you can have and each has its own strengths and weaknessess. You can also change the profession of your troops at any time during the mission and there is no limit to how many of one type you can have e.g. if you are not being attacked and you are low on scientists then you can just change your troops into scinentists to help with the research you can still do this even if you are being attacked. Another great thing about the game is that you can choose how you want the game to end by staying true to your starting country or joining the alliance its up to you. There are 15 missions on each campagin and they start off easyier but as you get further into the game they get very challenging. You can't create any more troops so you must use them wisely this may sound rubbish but you get to personally know each character and you really feel that you don't want them to die. So to sum up I really love this game and it is by far the best I have ever played!

Brilliant (2004-08-04)

I'm writing this review in 2004 and Original War is still a great game. The fact you can't build any more troops after they die is challenging which I want from a game. Also the fact that there aren't any cheats is even better so some yellow crap monkey can't fail the first mission enter a code and have finished the game. The story can seem slightly average but the voice acting is great. P.S reviewer called Matthew who gave this game two stars and moaned on and on. 0 out 4 people found review helpful. Looks like you just aren't good enough to play a game like Original War. Hey mate stick to action man you chicken........

Nothing Special (2002-01-17)

This game looks wonderful but do not fall into the trap. The game is kind of like Z mixed with Commandos but is no where near as good as either. The story, (although it changes depending on your decisions) is average and the cheesy voice acting is enough to make you want to turn the sound off. Although having a certain amout of units at the start of a mission (not being able to rebuild soldiers like in Starcraft, Red Alert etc) is challenging,as it was in Commandos. However it makes the game tedious and difficult. The graphics are nothing special although with a good resolution, are one of the better aspects of the game. Overall this is an average game, with bugs, glitches, awful acting and, oh yeah, the names pants aswell!

Original war (2001-02-25)

Of you liked Red Alert and Red alert 2, if you liked starcraft, if you liked age of empires, you will absolutely love this game. With stunning graphics, and for once a decent story line. You can play as russia or america, and have specific missions such as destroy the enemy armory, and you dont have to kill all that moves. You become dependant on every units unique characterisitic and may come to know them personallly.
