Amazon.co.uk Review
Usually when playing a video game, particularly a movie license, you end up playing some kind of macho superhero with a black belt in GBH and a penchant for very large guns. In Finding Nemo you get to control a neurotic clownfish. This obviously limits the options available within the game, but the developers have nevertheless managed to create a charming and enjoyable title that's true to the events and spirit of the movie.
The game can be viewed from any of three angles (side-on, front and back) and generally takes the form of a chase sequence or a more puzzle-oriented maze-like adventure. In one, for example, you must negotiate a maze of jellyfish, in another avoid the unwanted proddings of a scuba-diver as he attempts to catch you from behind.
Clearly aimed at younger fans of the film, Finding Nemo is not particularly difficult or complex, but the graphics are generally very good and the voiceovers, featuring most of the cast from the movie, are excellent. The load times though are atrocious and almost ruin what is otherwise a perfect way to keep unruly children quiet and entertained. --David Jenkins
Customer Reviews
Great for young children (2004-10-25) I bought this for my brother for his 5th birthday and he really likes it. It's difficult to get him off it! I think it's a good price if you want to buy it for young children, but my sister who is 8 also likes it! It's very colourful with all the characters from the film and the games are also related to the film. It allows for up to 8 saves which is useful aswell.
Entertainingg and colourful (2004-06-25) Although game play is some what limited, the colour's were vibrant and eye catching and both my young son's loved it.
Nemo's lost (2004-01-14) I'm afraid to say that though I found the film throughly entertaining and humorous, this game just simply didn't work for me. All you had to do was click to go in several different directions and then use a touch of logic and you'd have virtually completed it.Too easy for me and my brother and not enough game, too many clips. After an hour or two, you'd have finished playing it if you're older than 5 or 6, and after a few days I didn't bother playing it at all.
Finding nemo - (2003-11-19) I bought it for my 3.5yr old and he absolutely LOVES it. I have to control the mouse but he tells me where to go and how to avoid BIG BRUCE the SHARK! My Nephew who is 4.5 years old absolutley LOVES it too and can control the mouse by himself. A perfect way for mouse familiarisation Brilliant colour throughout, warm friendly characters and educational. Interactive background too, with lots of hidden features! Having read the views above perhaps this game is ideally suited for 3-5 year olds. I thoroughly recommend it.
POOR VALUE (2003-11-12) My young daughters (10 and 7) finished this game in just over an hour. This game is not value for money.
