Amazon.co.uk Review
Syberia II has a lot to live up to; the original Syberia did what no recent game has achieved in making the graphic adventure popular again. The peculiar plot of the game had New York lawyer Kate Walker giving up her career to help the wizened Hans Voralberg in his attempts to find Syberia--a lost land of living mammoths. This sequel picks up the story right from the end of the first, with Kate starting out in the Russian town of Romansburg in a renewed attempt to help Hans see Syberia before he dies.
The first game won its fans largely because of its well scripted storyline, which managed to make you forget the oddness of its premise and really invest in the cast of genuinely believable and engaging characters. The quality of writing is undiminished in this sequel, but the story itself is beginning to feel unnecessarily strung out with the constant stream of snowy wastelands leaving you wishing for more verdant surroundings.
The puzzles are also a bit of a step down from before, with the welcome attempt to add a greater variety of tasks and difficulty levels leading to an uncomfortable mix of traditional LucasArts-style conundrums and more trial-and-error Myst-style affairs.
Despite these misgivings Syberia II is still enjoyable, with superb production values--particularly in the excellent cut scenes. Those who have never played the original, however, should certainly start there as this slightly disappointing sequel is really one for those that want to continue the series' journey to its logical end. --David Jenkins

One of the best PS2 games I've ever played (2008-04-05) I played this game before xmas with a friend, we were both taken by the magic and beauty of this great puzzle/adventure and its awesome music soundtrack! Even tho we hadnt played the first Syberia game it was easy enough to get the gist of what was happening. Even now, months later ..we talk about how good a game it is. Funny thing though, we never did complete the game, maybe we just ran out of inspiration or something. But it took us a good 14 hours of gameplay over a few days to get as far as we did.
A Worthy Sequel - Finishes the Story Nicely (2008-03-28) Well, if you have played the original Syberia, you'll know exactly what to expect and you won't be disappointed. Nothing really different from the first game but a satisfying conclusion to the mysterious story of Kate Walker and her trusty automaton, Oscar`s journey. If you haven't played the first game you will be somewhat bewildered so I strongly recommend you do or the story won't make an awful lot of sense. Same beautiful scenery, same sort of puzzles and definitely a must-have for point and click fans.A wonderful couple of games, much underrated in my opinion.
Traditional Adventure Gaming (2006-12-14) I have, and probably always will be, a big fan of the traditional adventue game. Syberia 2, like the original, fits firmly in to this genre and provides a fine example to future game developers; the old styles of gameplay can still work. Plenty of puzzles, an absorbing storyline and no combat or spells in sight!Great storyline and thoroughly enjoyable throughout, with some breath-taking scenery along the way.Don't forget to check out the original, Syberia, which is equally good and starts the story off nicely...
Enjoyable game, bugs for older PS2 consoles!!! (2005-05-19) Syberia 2 is improved version of the first of Syberia games. The dialogue AI has improved a lot, and there are more variability to the story parts and puzzless. Graphics are beautifull again. This is a must for everyone that fell in love with Kate and her adventures in Syberia 1. However, you may consider buying this game if you have PS2 console of the older models. The game freezes the console, usually at the final puzzless. This is a quotation from the game community news group:"Seems there are known problems with the early PlayStation2 models (Specifically SCPH 10000, 20000, and 30000). You can try running the game on models 50000 and + "There seems to be problems reaching the game manufacturer, and at least my import company did nothing to repay the technical problems.
