Another Positive Review (2008-10-10)

I've been meaning to get these speakers for a while but somehow never got round to it. I took the leap and got them today and can't believe I didnt order them sooner. Even though most of the other reviews were positive -I was still skeptical- I still wondered if they would suit my diverse music collection. Another reservation I had was the speakers -I thought they could be tinny in sound and badly made. Complete hogwash! They are sturdy and have a weighted base and supply a quality sound. I wasn't worried about the subwoofer and it has met my high expectations. It is perfect for all genres, but to get the best results sometimes turn the bass up for more electronic/heavy rock songs and then switch it to midway for more acoustic/jazz/classical stuff...The price is not to be quibbled at. If these were to get stolen I would near to immediately buy another pair. I use them for for my laptop and mp3 player. Whilst there have been many suggestions that there could be an on/off switch -it isn't much effort turning them off at the wall after use but I agree this switch would come in handy. So to summarise: They are a great pair of speakers/subwoofer and this review only further champions their style, quality and value for money.

Simply the best (2008-10-06)

I bought these speakers in 2006 when they were half the price they are now, and they are still as good today as ever. I have them attached to my computer and they are a joy to listen to. I say get them now before they go up any more, because whatever the price they are brilliant. They look great, they sound fantastic, they are easy to use, and perhaps because of all the glass you'll look after them carefully and they'll last you well.

Clearly a bargain (2008-09-26)

These are linked up to my iMac 24" and they work a treat. They look fantastic and more than do the job with sound quality too.

Fabulous Sound and needs a bit of care too (2008-09-13)

Like anyone else buying a new sets of speakers, I was reading at loads of reviews from the web. Logitech? Altec? Creative? JBL? choices! lol.This is my 2nd set of HK speakers, yes, second. This is how much I am impressed by the sound it can produce. there's no need 4 me to say more. It's absolutely fantastic to my ears and my friends even complimented at it too! You might find the cables a bit short so do bare in mind where you want to put the speakers. It doesnt take up loads of space which is great for a packed place yet the sound produced is absolutely amazing.Let's talk about the 1st pair of HK I had. I bought it from ebay as 2nd hand. When I received it the two soundsticks broke into two! (look at the picture of the speaker, the Soundstick at the right hand side has a middle line isnt it? that's where the soundsticks broke) I read this from 1 out of hundreds of reviews from Apple wesbite and didnt believe it until it happened to me. I asked for a refund and got a new pair of speakers and it's great. So yea, in the long run if you dont take good care of your speakers eg drop it be prepared to pay the consequence. They are a bit of a fragile and needs caring from the owner (:Btw, these speakers doesn't produce hisses audible enough to annoy you like some altec speakers which I had experienced before.(unless you stick your ear just next to it) Hope this helps with your selection

Well chuffed! (2008-07-10)

I've never really been a fan of collecting cds, i think they take up too much space, so I keep all my music in mp3 format. However, i've always had to put up with average sound from average speakers on my laptop. But these speakers make all the difference! The sound is fantastic and the subwoofer is majorly powerful! I also love the fact that you connect the speakers through a standard headphone jack because it means you can connect the speakers directly to your ipod, or into your tv for watching films. And then on top of all that, the speakers are just so pretty :). The aesthetic design of them blows me away... I love how the subwoofer emits a little blue light. The only downside of these speakers is that there isn't an on/off switch, so if you're changing the input source of the speakers, you have to pull them out at the plug which can be a pain. I can't comment on the longevity of the speakers just yet, but my first impressions are that they were well worth the money!
