Extremely fun (2008-08-11)

This is the ultimate board game. Its the first board game focused on war I bought and once you get your head round the rules you'll have fun! Risk is just utter brilliance! Its easy to understand the rules and doesn't take to long to understand the rules. Its a fun game to play if you have a lot of people over.

Taking a RISK! (2008-07-21)

For every advantage there is a disadvantage quickly following it, every move that is beneficial to your strategy always has even a slight disadvantage to it, in other words with every move you are always taking a RISK! You must decide what is best! That is whats so good about this game, you may have a strategy all planned out on your first go, but by the time your next go comes round you find you've had to change it, you are constantly thinking whats the most advantageous move to make, also even if its not your go you may still be called upon to defend your turf. There are multiple ways to play the game, team games 3 players versus 3 players, 2 players versus another 2x 2 players or individual 6 players, and theres mission games where you accomplish set targets.Some of the decisions you will have to make during the game are: Do i conquer one country or go for a whole continent in one go?Should i hand in my 3 cards and get 15 reinforcements now or wait another turn and get 35 reinforcements? Should i reinforce one country more than another? Should i wipe player 4 off the map and get his cards and leave myself open to attacks or just dwindle his army down so i can take a country or 2?Many decisions to make, and with all of them you will be taking a RISK! FUN!

One Of The Best Board Game I've Ever Played!! (2008-03-25)

Risk is a world domination game where strategy and luck is a factor. You can play this game for hours, once i played this for 9hrs with 5 friends!I recommend you buy this game, but be warned, it is very easy to lose the small pieces.

All those university memories came back now! All I can say that I remember playing this game till 6 o`clock in the morning. if your friends are as ambitious as you, then you have looooong hours to play:) it is great fun. I wouldnt say that it would be fun for 2 players. never tried it! the more the better. however if there is 6 of you, it takes ages till your next turn, which i believe is good in a case! you can go and make yourself tea, have some snack and back to game:) dont forget its a strategy game and you have to THINK WELL before you attack! Enjoy it!!!

Why did it take me so long to get around to playing this?! (2008-01-01)

I love board games. I love strategy games. Always have. So why has it taken me so long to get around to playing Risk? This game is great. The balance of skill and luck is just about right and the ebb and flow of the balance of power once things get going is really gripping. Great stuff! If there are any other Risk-virgins out there I urge you to give this game a spin!My only criticism of this version is that the playing pieces are so, so tiny. I know they have to be, but flat counters with pictures would have been preferable to little figures that have a hard time standing up. A minor gripe that in no way detracts from the quality of the game though!I look forward to playing again and again - I have a lot of lost time to make up, after all!
