I bought this hardfloor tool direct from the Dyson website - at £18.00 plus £3.00 p&p. Why would you pay £30.00?!!

A fantastic investment (2007-03-07)

This Dyson tool doesn't look much for [...]but once you start using it you'll be glad you bought it. Cleaning wooden floors is a doddle, very quick and it doesn't scratch (very important to me - my Dyson DC04 upright was leaving terrible scuffs and scratch marks on my cherry veneer floors). I agree that the angle of the fitting tends to make you stoop a bit when you're using it but that's about the only drawback. I didn't find that it came loose as some reviewers have complained (you just need to screw it on tightly in the first place). The suction is brilliant, so it's great on rugs and carpets too. I'd definitely recommend this attachment, especially for hard surfaces.

Could be so much better (2006-11-19)

I agree with one of the previous reviews in that the angle and fitting of the attachment needs improving. The tool works extremely well when positioned correctly but in order to achieve this the "wand" needs to be held in an extremely awkward position. I also found that the attachment was prone to falling off which was very annoying. If Dyson could manufacture a type of adaptor which would angle the hard floor tool in an optimum position as well as ensuring a more secure fitting this would be be well worth 5 stars.

Back breaking (2006-10-03)

I bought the hard floor tool to use with my DC07. On the plus side it cleans my laminate floors really well and easily fits under my kitchen cupboards and around tables and chairs. However, I have 2 complaints. Firstly, it is a poor fit on the end of the wand - it falls off after a couple of minutes use and needs reattached. Quite annoying. My major complaint is the angle of the tool. I find I have to bend quite low or it doesn't make good contact with the floor. (I'm only 5'2" and it is probably worse for taller people.) The angle of the joint with the wand need to be sharper.Using this floor tool has made me realise that in fact I'm better off with a cylinder hoover rather than an upright. So I have now dumped the Dyson in favour of a Miele and am very pleased with it.

Dyson Hard Floor Tool (2006-06-06)

I bought a DC04 little over a year ago, then we suddenly decided to swap the carpets for laminate floor....d'oh! Instead of buying another Dyson, I noticed this tool. FANTASTIC!!! It makes life so much easier and even manages to fit under the sofa to get all the fluff and dust. Well worth the price.
