Works well with Age of Conan! (2008-06-18)

First of all this keyboard isn't huge, it's the much smaller version 2 of the G15 which is only slightly larger than a standard keyboard. Downside is you lose 12 of the programmable G keys and have a much smaller LCD screen and no volume wheel.Now the reason I got it was for work to automate a lot of godawfully mundane file re-naming tasks but the first day I had it I took it home and used it with Age of Conan. AoC uses a combo based combat system and this keyboard lets you record these keystrokes so next time you want to pull off an attack you only have to hit a single key instead of a series of keys. Lazy, yes, but so far not considered cheating.Thing is, I now use a version 1 G15, which I got from my nephew, at home and have this one at work, where it does do a really good job at what I originally intended. The trouble is, having used the version 1 keyboard, the version 2 seems lacklustre in comparison for games. Unfortunately the version 1 is out of production so the version 2 is all you've got and if I'd never seen the original I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone.Be aware that use of macros is considered cheating in a lot of online games so check to see if you can use this keyboard with your game of choice before splashing out.Also it's also fair to point out that the free software package called Autohotkey will let you do pretty much everything this keyboard can and a lot more besides but can be a lot harder to set-up.

Incredible.. (2008-05-10)

Before this keyboard i owned a Saitek eclipse II, I was very happy with that keyboard and was reluctant to give it away. However when i was given this keyboard as a present, i will never look back as it is simply outstanding.The LCD panel is incredibly useful and becomes difficult to live without.The illuminated keys are very useful if in the dark and the keys alone are very comfortable to use.In fact the only real criticism i can come up with is the caps lock key being too big, but thats just me being fussy.

not just for gaming (2008-04-03)

i think *just* selling it as a gaming keyboard is under selling it. I bought it because of the screen, light up keys and the macro function. As someone who uses design packages it provides a great way to simplify commands and really speeds up the proccess - for example, i have one key set to put files in dreamweaver, with a save file button next to it. Whilst these are'nt massively complicated in the first place the fact that you only have to press two buttons makes life much easier and performance much quicker as u dont have to move your mouse from A to B over and over. The screen also as standard displays media information, CPU & RAM performance, email status etc and as the other reviewer pointed out, has a lot of mods available for it, and the luminated keys seal the deal. All in all a great keyboard that covers a lot of uses superbly

g15 is awsome (2008-03-08)

this is one of the best keyboards i have ever used and believe me when i say i have used a lot of keyboards (too many).any first off the backlight, the backlight is v good for middle of the night gaming which i tend to do a lot of and you can turn it off during the day and you dont have to look for the keys due to periferal vision comes in handy.Sencondly the G-KEYS, the g-key macro software helps when you want to open programms without having to go through start menu, and while in games and in programs and the macro recode helps with on the fly keystrokes that you'll forget.lastly the LCD screen and media keys, this is the selling point the screen is one a focal point and has a lot of uses for media, games, chat progs , and sys info, media keys control all media from the media keys during games without having to alt + tab all the time. In concoulsion i would highly recomend this keyboard to anyone and if it wasnt system access i would take this to work and use it there.

Better than the first one (2008-02-01)

I wanted to buy the blue old one but Version 2 made me almost jump out of my chair, it's a lot better than i've expected it to be. The LCD display comes with a lot of extra stuff and it's configurable."Many people complain about just 6 G-Keys" Open your eyes and you spot the Buttons "M1 , M2, M3", this changes the Layout for the G Keys so you can switch game modes by just hitting one of the keys. the MR Key lets you place a "Quick Macro". As usual you get a "Windows Key Block", this blocks the Windows Key on the keyboard, so you dont get thrown out of a programm or a game when accidently pressing it. the keys are really soft and it's impossible to lose grip on them.There are a lot of modifications that makes your Keyboard "flash" in a row and such, Mods for games, Music Players, Visualizations, BMP Pictures in the Display. This Keyboard is a must buy for everyone looking for a great keyboard ;)
