Simply blown away by this album (2007-10-20)

That's the Way of the World and Everybody Loves the Sunshine are two of my all-time favourite songs. In the hands of almost anybody else, I'd have been horrified to hear that someone was trying to produce a cover of either........but this is Bluey and Incognito, so all bets are off.For the most part, I consider those late 70s Earth Wind & Fire tracks to be just about perfect. Trying to cover or remix them is a bit like drawing a moustache on the Mona Lisa. Yet Incognito's cover of That's the Way of the World somehow manages to simplify the arrangement without losing anything of the subtle groove. And the last few bars, with Matt Cooper's Rhodes and Andy Ross's flute, just make the hairs on the back of my neck stand up every time I hear it.At an age (nearly 30 years) when most bands are either calling it quits or becoming a parody of themselves, Incognito continue to break new ground. And this album is a perfect example, with beautiful down-tempo arrangements of Always There and Everyday, and a breathtaking drum'n'bass meets acid jazz fusion (Raise). To sum it all up in one word: UNMISSABLE.
why its worth revisiting old tracks (2007-04-18)

I think probably this is the Best of Incognito's output from the past few years. Though they never dissapoint, there is an ease and maturity to this project that makes it stellar in its execution. The revisiting of old tracks is genius. Tempo's changed there is a depth to the music that was not there previously. I personally cannot get this off the cd player or my mp3 player or for that matter out of my head when neither audio source is available. The playing is of course exemplary and sonically it is superior to 'Eleven', their previous Album.
Not One of their Best Albums (2007-03-05)

Sorry to disagree with the previous reviews, but I am an ardent fan of Incognito and I'm really disappointed with this one. For me it just never gets of the ground, too slow, especially the revamped tracks: Everyday, Always There and Still a Friend of Mine. The only track worth a mention is Earth Wind & Fire's, That's the Way Of the World.Incognito are the best British Jazz/RnB Band, but this album is not for me.SORRY but I still love you guys.xxxxxxx
Nice one Bluey! (2006-11-07)

I pressed play with a sense of trepidation on this CD, bearing in mind that most of the tracks are either cover versions or remakes of old Incognito classics. However I needn't have worried as Bluey and his boys and girls have surpassed themselves with this one! What a fantastic Incognito album. Brill all the way through. My favourite has to be the pared down version of 'Always There' with Jocelyn Brown on the vocal again, but with a totally different feel this time. It leads straight into 'Raise' which I have on permanent replay in my car at the moment! Wicked beats. If you like your soul on the fat and funky side (and you don't mind just a bit of cheese (!) thrown in for good measure) then you should buy this now. Thanks Bluey for making stuff like this. I love it.
Pure bliss (2006-10-30)

What can i say...........just another amazing album, with a refreshing twist to some old tracks. The usual high standards are performed once again. I love it! Go out and buy it!
