stompin groovey tunes this album is tooo much fun - buy it (2007-04-24)

hard to choose between the bowie v liberty x, or no doubt v shapeshifters as my favourite, the doors v blondie also brilliant, then kylie v new order. Can you believe Duran duran v Kelis could be genius - yeah I know, how can that be possible, but it just well, works, brilliantly.Its all a bit mind boggling just how groovy these mashed tracks are, I play it loud in the kitchen when i am cooking and it is hard not to jump around, so , well, I jump around, it is just too feel good this album, i really really love it and cannot recommend it highly enough.go buy.

Peggy vs Iggy - a work of genius (2007-02-14)

I agree with all the previous comments - it's been a long time since I actually bought a CD but I made an exception for this one after hearing the Peggy vs. Iggy track - Passenger Fever. I'm playing it at work at the moment and most of the office have commented on how good it is.

A landmark release (2007-02-13)

This is special.I've been waiting for an official compilation of this type for many a moon.Too many predictable 'mix albums' of bootlegs or 'mash-ups' (as seems to be the vogue terminology) have surfaced over the past couple of years, with a heavy leaning towards a club-style and using (c)rap tracks etc.'Mashed' presents tunes that you will be familair with, twisted with intelligence and humour. It's very addictive.The first time I heard Peggy Lee's 'Fever' vocal kick in over Iggy Pop's 'Passenger', I simply had to cue back the track immediately to take it in again. Incredible how the 2 songs work together!'Franz Buffalo' has a similar effect, like a new skin on tired bones if you like and that goes for many of the tracks compiled here.Hats off to Go Home Productions and Loo & Placido for the way in which they've combined and breathed new life into these songs, it's quite simply essential, repeated listening.

Bootleg-tastic! (2007-02-13)

This album is superb! To be honest, I don't buy many CDs these days as there's very few that justify their price but after I heard this in my mate's car I thought I'd make an exception. It hasn't been out of my car stereo since I bought it!Track 11 (Proper Education with Eric Prydz vs Floyd) is the one most people will have heard on the radio, but most of the tracks are even better than that with some great collaborations....highlight for me was David Bowie vs Liberty X: pure genius!
