AFTER OPENING THE BOX, IT HITS YOU WITH SURPRISE HOW WELL ITS BEEN PACKAGED. THEN WEN YOU FINALY GET IT OUT OF ITS PACKAGEING ITS LIKE A BIG RUBBICKS CUBE TRYING TO TURN IT IN TO A CAR.THATS THE FUN PART AND IT DOES LOOK AMAZING. A BIT PLASTICKY GOT THIS FOR MY 6 YEAR OLD FOR HIS BIRTHDAY AS EXTRA PRESNT AND HE LOVES BUT YOU NO KIDS .I THINK HE WOULD STRUGGLE TRYING TO TRANSFORM IT EVERYTIME .THIS IS A BIG KIDS TOY END OF DAY WELL WORTH THE MONEY AS COLLECTERS TOY WHO KNOWS.DONT THROW THE PAKAGEING AWAY.

This toy is very poor value. Excessively overpriced , and no fun to play with , I urge you not to purchase this. It provided more entertainment getting it out of thebox than playing with . Its arms move up and down its head goes from side to side and plays cheesy rock songs. That's it. And for 80 pounds.Use your money to buy your children some Lego, Mega blocks maybe , as this is hopeless , cumbersome and less than a two minute wonder, and looks like it could snap any minute.
Not really a toy (2007-12-31)

Got this as a xmas pressie! Item is really well packaged but a pain to get it out - it's excessively wired to the cardboard box - like a lot of toys these daysWhen it did come out its not fully transformed which gives you a little time to get use to it and finsh of the transformation into the robot. Took about 10 mins to transform into the car though at first try. Bit fiddly in some places (especially the rear wings). The sound effects are pretty good though, as a car its revs up, skids, sirens etc. As a robot there is a whole lot more effects. Moves arms automatically, fires rocket, lots of music and flashing blue eyes. There is one fear however , some bits do feel a little fimsly and there is a fear of snapping it. However I have not snaped it yet, but overall, so far so good. They are quite pricey as I discoverd but nevertheless worth a buy - infact I think its probably the best transformers item (apart from the DVD of course)
Must have for the fans, but... (2007-12-28)

I've recently bought the ultimate bumblebee. and I must say the toy is better than i imagined. (I checked around for prices and paid 75 Euro in a store)The detail is very high and the robot looks a lot like what you see in the movie. Unfortunately there are some missed opportunities that would have made this robot a lot better.1. it would have been cool that the helmet would be able to slide down over bumblebee's face - like it does in the movie when he is firing his gun.2. an extra normal right arm would have been great, now you are stuck with the "gun" arm. This goes for all the new transformer toys available at the moment.3. I know the current trend is to have audio and automatic movement on every toy but in this case a lot of the gear needed to get these extra features is taking up space which could have been used to get the transformation almost perfect. Especially around the torso.A large portion of the character is taken for the batteries and machinery and- In my opinion all the noise or movements a toy makes does not add more fun..- the automatic movement also blocks the movement of the toy which I find stupid because that makes it harder to play with the toy.The driving sounds are fun and cool, but then again that will soon loose my interest.because once you've heard it... you've heard itThe most fun part about the toy stays the transformation and that is what it is all about. The first time it might be a little tricky but if you have "transformer-experience" you should be able to figure it out quite fast. The unpacking of the character is definitely harder than transforming it :)At the end all I can say is if you loved the series or the toys this is an absolute must because the transformation of the ultimate bumblebee really outranks most of the other old-school transformers.I personally would not recommend this toy for children who do not know the transformers or do not have a lot of patience. this is really more of a collectible then just a toy.
I'm a collector and biased...however (2007-12-08)

First off I'm a bit of a mechaphile and a collector of model cars that I really like. So I really wanted this one :-). Firstly, he took half an hour to unpack, so thats definitly Mom and Dad's job on Xmas morning if you get him as a present.Secondly it took me an hour to work out how to transform him. I probably won't change him too often LOL. Not sure how that would go down with younger kids as the instructions are middling as far as clarity is concerned. My other grip is the doors don't quite fit into place 100%. A niggle, something youngsters probably wouldn't care about really. A very minor niggle to be honest. It's quite a complex toy or perhaps I'm simple :-).It comes complete with batteries and once transformed seems quite sturdy.Curries had 3 left at £79.99 so I wouldn't pay over £100 if I were you!I've yet to try out the noises and motion stuff LOL.I put 3 stars for educational. I'm sure he's not intended in any way to be educational, but I can imagine solving his transforming is puzzle enough to be considered so!I couldn't rate him less than 5 stars for fun could I? If you really like the Transformers anyway, he's fun. If you want to waste a couple of hours fiddling with him you can.I can't quite swear to the price/value really-model cars that make no noises etc can be up to £100 or more for collectors :-).
