Lousy product (2008-08-02) This product is Lousy with a capital L! Used it in ultrasonic mode on my neighbours barking-mad dogs and even at point blank range they just ignore it or bark more aggresively, never mind 20 feet away.Utterly useless! Even using the sonic mode only deters them slightly as they pause and then carry on as normal.WOTAM - Waste of time and money!
Think people need to try... (2008-05-20) using the sonic, rather than the ultrasonic setting. Used it on a couple of squirrels and they definitely hate the sonic setting. To start with the squirrels ignored the ultrasonic setting. Now I know that you won't want to annoy the neighbours, but if you start on the ultrasonic then switch to the sonic then the next time you fire ultrasonic at them they will scarper before you get to the sonic. You just need to 'train' them, maybe a couple of times, but it works!5 Stars, because everything else I've tried to get rid of squirrels hasn't worked.
Utterly Useless (2008-04-05) It's good fun aiming the red dot at the pests in my garden, but the cats and squirrels just look disdainfully at me when I use this.
Useless (2007-12-01) Have tried this device on both cats and squirrels and neither seem bothered by it at all, they just look at where the noise comes from and then carry on doing their own thing. Don't buy as it doesn't work.
Functions, but not effective for the stated purpose (2007-07-26) I bought this in a store hoping to stop my puppy from ripping my plants to shreds. He can hear it in ultra-sonic mode and at first it served to distract him from his plant shredding and stop him, but after the third day he became accustomed to the sound and would not be distracted from what he was doing. In the sonic mode that people can hear the same was the case and I wasn't inclined to persist too much for fear of disturbing neighbours. Also it sounds a bit like a personal attack alarm but not as loud. So basically a waste of money.
