What a waste of money !!! (2008-01-10)

If I could rate this product with a minus rating I would. I awaited the arrival of this product with anticipation. However on arrival several parts were loose, my husband managed to "fix" them. However, the product is very hard to use. The button must be depressed at all times for the steam to work.. The power of steam is quite low and after holding the button continuously for several minutes, it becomes painful to use. The steam disperses sporadically and this product, I personally feel is quite hazardous because of this. My personal advise - look elsewhere. There are better, cheaper products out there, just do your research and don't believe all the hype.

Badly put together. (2007-09-05)

Mine arrived today. Guess what? The water intake hose assembly is lying rattling about at the bottom of the sealed water reservoir.I 'phoned vax who were as useful as a chocolate fire guard.I managed to fix it myself in a couple of minutes though, it's actually very easy to do. Just take the grey valve off the tank (the one with the hole) and you can get the other parts out with a bit of fiddling. Re-assemble it with the spring in between the valve and the tube and refit the valve.

problems (2007-09-02)

I had exactly the same problem as the person in the last review. however, I rang VAX and they sent me a replacement. They told me to bin the old one!Now I have the new one and was so impressed it cleaned everything so well and was easy to use. However after having it less than a week I just used it again, its overheated and broken down again! can't get it to work! So its back to phoning VAX again tomorrow! The thing is, I just want one that works though as when it did work, I liked it.

POORLY PUT TOGETHER (2007-08-07)

The only conclusion I can come to regarding this product, is that it is poorly made. As the other reviewer on here, it came with the water intake tube, a loose spring and a clip, rattling around inside the reservoir, not attached and no way of getting into the reservoir to attach it. It didn't look as though it was broken, more as though it hadn't been finished. I called VAX, they told me to send it back to Amazon, and were distinctly unhelpful. Surely this is a manufacturers error, not a retailers! Anyway, I can't tell you how good or bad it is because it didn't work.

Good product/poor packaging (2007-07-11)

This is the best product of this type that I've used (tried other people's units). It delivers a strong burst of steam and cleaned off limescale and mould easily. It also has a good long cable and is light enough to use for a long time. My biggest problem was that it was delivered with the water intake pipe in the reservoir in pieces. There was a note from Vax telling me not to send it back but to ring or e-mail them. I e-mailed and was told to send it back to Amazon. Luckily, a guy at work fixed it for me (ta Bos).
