Should be compulsory! (2008-10-05)

This CD shows that the "sisters" are not just good at harmony but can write quality material too. Their original songs are the high spots and their words are brilliant, from the tragic And She Sang to the laugh-out-loud I Can't Believe I'm Not A Millionaire via the bitter-sweet Jilted.Furthermore the arrangements are splendid and the musicians behind them excellent. The drumming on Soho Nights raises it from just a catchy tune to a tour de force.If there has to be a weak track, for me it's It Don't Mean A Thing (If It Ain't Got That Swing) which seems to go on too long and try out too many styles. But this is a quibble.I can't wait for the next one!

The Rise and Rise of the Puppini Sisters! (2008-03-12)

I've listened to this album a lot since I bought it. I bought it because I loved the first album and, after seeing them live in 'Borders' in London, I thought there really was something special about them; something different and exciting from the norm. So I was a little disappointed in reading some of the reviews about the second album - but I thought I'd give it a whirl; who knows, I might be surprised. I am so glad I ignored the negative reviews! This is a really good album! If you are not one to be hooked by the latest trends and enjoy trying something different; music with a great melody and a style and delivery that will put a smile on your face, then try this. I fail to see how the comments regarding sound quality have arisen and can only think that those making the comments must have had a duff CD. My album sounds crisp, bright and clear - everything you would expect from a quality recording. If you are not sure the Puppini Sisters' style of music is for you, there are plenty of free downloads. I recommend you listen to some of their work; and hope you enjoy this second album as much as I.

Sensational - even better than 'Betcha Bottom Dollar' (2008-01-19)

Just listen to the astonishing cover of "We have all the time in the world" - it's worth twice the price just for that track, and even beats the Louis Armstrong version. I saw Take That's live performance of "Could it be magic?" last year - theirs is workmanlike and poppy, the Puppinis' version is dramatic and sultry. Their own compositions - Soho nights, Jilted, Spooky - will be less familiar, but grow on you very rapidly. What are you waiting for? Buy it now!

Fantastic CD (2007-11-21)

I was already a fan of the Puppini Sisters's first CD and they are an amazing live act. I think the new CD is excellent, with really memorable new songs like Jilted and Soho Nights, and you've got to hear their cover of Beyonce's Crazy In Love - brilliant. It's not as commercial as the first CD, but its a CD I have already listened to many many times, and I really hope they get the chance to make a 3rd CD soon! It also makes me laugh on a regular basis, and I'm making all my friends listen to it!Simon Wales, Birmingham
