Pre-order (2008-10-13) Saw the reviews on here about delivery and was shocked that someone like Amazon cannot deliver on the release date.Just popped into my local Zavvi (what was Virgin) to enquire and was turned away. Then i tried HMV and as it happens they're still taking pre-orders. I ordered on the spot and was also told that, like a lot of stores, they will be open at midnight in order for people to collect.Thank you to those who put the reviews about Amazons delivery, and my advice to others would be to try HMV.
Wrath of the Lich King (2008-09-17) Having played the beta from it's opening in July, I have had an oppertunity to see what the developers have been hard at work doing since Blizzcon last year. To my surprise, the results are extroindary. As they have stated on many an occasion, they have taken the good from Burning Crusade and ran with it. The quests and storyline are fresh and rarely feel tedious, the environments are stunning and the music really helps you feel immersed in the experience.Alot of people were dissapointed with Burning Crusade and I can happily say that Wrath of the Lich King has looked back, seen the issues that the previous expansion had and moved in the opposite direction. The Death Knight hero class, which at first to me seemed inappropriate and a possible lore killer, fits in reasonably well with the story and the starting zone really makes you feel as though you are playing the very first hero class. Some things from the old world have been changed to reflect storyline changes (E.G the removal of Lady Katrana Prestor A.K.A Onyxia from Stormwind and the return of the King.) which is refreshing and makes the game feel alot less static. In addition a new mechanic has been added that allows for a story to progress through questing that changes the environment on a client side level so that only those that have reached that point can see the changes. (An excelent example of this is during the Death Knight starting quests and later in Northrend.) which again makes you feel really immersed in the story that is being told. This addition to an already amazing game takes the War in Warcraf to a whole new level, while in Northrend you will really feel as though your actions could really save Azeroth. Fans of the lore will also be satisfied with the return of an old villain and the effects it has on the entire world.I would recommend this expansion for anyone that has played World of Warcraft in the past and enjoyed it, it really does give the game a fresh breath of life!
Why 2 or 3 days delivery??? (2008-09-15) Guys first of all the date of release is 13 november not the 4th, then u say you can't delivery in 24H that's why you won't get my order. If this item was sold by Amazon with the usual shipping time for couple of pounds more i would have pre ordered it.
Thanks, but i'll pass. (2007-11-03) I got into the beta and, by no surprise, it's more of the same. This may be exciting for some, but having played the game for over three years now and still seen little to no change in game mechanics, i've lost all hope.PvP remains dire. PvE remains repetitive.Everybody still looks the same. The quests are all the same.If you're a dire hard WoW fan, you won't be disappointed. For those expecting change, however, what can i say? Blizzard have done their best, but WoWs glory is coming to an end. This is just my opinion, though. You'll all probably love it.I, however, will be moving to the PvP frenzy that is Warhammer Online :)
Beta play has calmed me down - but it's still essential (2007-08-10) I've been in the beta for WOTLK for around one week now. I'll just say that I'm still as excited about the release as I was before I played it - in fact probably more so.As for the people worried that they won't get their copy on the day of release I'd just like to say that waiting a few days may actually improve the game for you. While every man and his dog are fighting for every mob in the 2 starting zones in Northrend, I'll be spending the time doing something with my family/friends. Once it's calmed down a bit I'll jump in and save myself the hassle of fighting it out with the entire server.I'd also like to say that anyone who has a PC thats struggling currently with TBC content will likely have to upgrade. On full detail at 1920x1200 it looks gorgeous. With everything turned down to minimum it loses a lot and looks pretty awful to be honest. This is an essential purchase for anyone currently playing WoW and is a massive upgrade in almost every way.
