Editorial Reviews
Amazon.co.uk Review

Traditionally, Kylie Minogue has been at her best attempting pure pop, not chasing credibility, but X--her tenth studio album, and the first since 2003’s Body Language--somehow pulls off the trick of being both. With production credits split between old hands like Richard Stannard and Guy Chambers and new faces like Calvin Harris, the Freemasons and Bloodshy & Avant, the Swedish team behind Britney’s "Toxic", X does a neat job of matching big hooks with forward-thinking production tricks. The poptimistic Kylie fan will head straight for "2 Hearts", a sassy falling-for-you number with a glammy beat and a chorus poised to fill a thousand Karaoke rooms, and "Wow"--a thumping disco number with a lot of love to give. Scattered alongside these, however, are some slightly more adventurous productions that demonstrate that despite a few years off the stage, Kylie is well up to speed with 21st Century pop: the excellent "Speakerphone" begins with the sound of a strummed harp before diffusing into a shimmering, Scandinvian-tinged electro-pop number reminiscent of Robyn or The Knife, all snapping, sassy beats and vocodered vocal; meanwhile, the ghetto-pop bounce of "Nu-di-ty" proves raunch is still by no means beyond her. A very welcome return. , --Louis Pattison

Kylie's best album to date (with a bit of tweeking)! (2008-10-12)

X Kylie's X is without doubt her best album so far. It has literally been on my car's cd player for over a year now. I've had to make my own version of it though adding in some amazing B-sides (Cherry Bomb, Carried Away, Do It Again), deleting the complete mistake that is Nu-di-ty, and replacing the album version of 2 Hearts with the far superior Freemason's Dirty Hands Remix! Wow, The One and In My Arms are 3 of my favourite Kylie singles of all time. All in all X is a fantastic CD and I urge anyone who hasn't got a copy to buy one now! And buy it your mates for Christmas!!
A fantastic return (2008-08-08)

Kylie's back where she belongs, on top, this has got some great dance tracks, the stand out ones for me, In My Arms, No More Rain, The One, Wow (which aptly sums up this album) and the more soulful Cosmic, my personal favourite. Interesting to see that Madonna's almost copied this cd cover for her recent embarrassing effort, let's hope Kylie can mature more gracefully than her.
X.... a five star album (2008-07-22)

OKay, I'm a fan... I can say that i bought this album, before it came out, didn't knew what could come out... was not affraid, 'cause I some kinda way I knew that K would do something on her own, her way... and i loved all the songs, for who doesn't... respect, but try to take a look in some of her "Xtour" videos, and you'll see what music she makes, and why she does it! You'll hear all the songs in other sort of way... The terrific Tours of Kylie, among all the success she deserves... X It's just her best album Ever... And play over and over and over and over and over....
Great! (2008-06-11)

I have been a fan of Kylie's since the I should Be so Lucky days!! (I was a small child at the time!)This album is brilliant. Good Sound all round. What can I say - Kylie's done it again!!! Buy it.I would also recomed Fever, Impossible Princess (if you like Indie/rock - it shows that you can change your sound from a pop Princess!), Kylie Minogue (white cover) and Kylie (first)One album of Kylie's I strongly DO-NOT recommend is Light Years. It sounded the same all the way through. If you like Spinning Around get it as a single instead, even if it cost's you more.
A fine return to form (2008-05-03)

Having bought my first Kylie album 21 years ago now, I feel I am somewhat qualified as a Kylie Minogue fan. I've enjoyed all the various periods of her music, and having heard "White Diamond" on the tour was cautiously optimistic for the "X" album. Sadly, "2 Hearts" didn't confirm my optimism, one of her weaker single releases, I was a bit disappointed Kylie was heading down the road of poor Goldfrapp - whereas I wanted classic Kylie. Thankfully, all the other tracks on the album are pure gems, and even "2 Hearts" has grown on me with repeated listening. I am pleased that Kylie has stuck to what she does best with this album rather than jumping on the latest trend, her fans will think better of her for it, and certainly I do. Here are my track thoughts...1/ 2Hearts - 6/10 - possibly the weakest on the album, very poor chorus...2/ Like a Drug - 9/10 - Very catchy, classic Kylie3/ In my Arms - 9/10 - Superb track, love the spoken parts4/ Speakerphone - 10/10 - The album highlight for me5/ Sensitized - 9/10 - A real grower6/ Heart Beat Rock - 7/10 - A bit childish lyrically, but not too bad7/ The One - 8/10 - Not the gem I was expecting, but still very good8/ No More Rain - 8/10 - A grower again, with good lyrics and vocal9/ All I see - 4/10 - My least favourite track - way too simple10/ Stars - 9/10 - Quality classic11/ Wow - 7/10 - Not a favourite, but very catchy12/ Nu-Di-Ty - 8/10 - "Another" grower, and very different for Kylie13/ Cosmic - 8/10 - A overall nice end to the album, clearly personalHave to also comment that the various B-Sides, and especially "White Diamond" itself from this era are brilliant - Kylie could easily have put together a brilliant double album of "X". A must buy for a Kylie fan, and a good place to start if you enjoy any of her songs...
