Trancendental (2008-04-08)

Like the Annuals the clubbers guide series has gone downhill since they kicked Jules,Tong and Tall Paul off the Scene MOS went using a computer cram together loads of commercial dance tunes. These albums are just not thought about anymore.
Based on your noisey Neighbour playing with his media player last year (2008-02-07)

See above comments really The mixing is a bit lameThe tunes - yeahhh they are big - But old?! Its a Skitzo album - one side for your comercial beats for a drunken nightside two - Slightly more cutting, but the mixing is yet to be desired! For a label with so many names - surely someone could have put a bit of polish before you ask 10quid for 20tracks!My tip - Check the tunes, then buy the ones you havent heard 100 times before on ITunes or similar. One things for sure, you will already have most of these songs somewhere else in your collection!
Another poor album by ministry (2008-02-04)

Guide to 2007? (2008-01-17)

Reviewing this is very difficult mainly due to the 2 completely contrasting styles on the cd's. CD1 is your typical commercial ministry of sound compilation. Theres plenty of good clubs song on here, a couple of brilliant once including Ida Corr and Peter Gelderblom's Remix of the RHCP by the way. Obviously the Booty Luv and Chanel tracks are also good but overall this is your mainstream cd and for the quality of mixing (being non existant) id give cd1 a 1 or 2 at mostCD2 in contrast is dirty edgy funky electro, quite a departure for MOS compilations. CD2 is brimming with brilliant club tracks that you will be hearing in any decent club that knows its house music. Dirty South, Micky Slim, Steve Angelo,Sandy Rivera and the amzing so it goes by bart.b are all brilliant tracks and for sure will get you funking across the dancefloor. The only let down of this CD is that again the mixing is little more than what you can do with your media player crossfader.1 other qualm is that there were several of these songs which were out in clubland as early as last spring, which begs the question how can this be a guide to 2008 when we have spent the best part of a year listening to these tracks. Im not quite sure who this album will appeal to really, commericial dance fans will love disc 1 but hate disc 2, and house/electro fans will really like disc 2 but will be left feeling let down by mixing and disc 1, a little identity crisis of an album but well worth a buy even if you only listen to 1 of the cds
for real clubbers (2008-01-14)

Clubbers, forget the annual 2008, Hed Kandi the mix 2008 etc... and listen to Clubbers guide 2008 the real first compilation of 2008. Ministry of Sound has not become so commercial than people say it. CD1 : very commercial but with lots of club numbers 1 : booty luv, ida corr, basshunter and news things like chanel, freemasons & alex gaudino and more. CD2 : oh my god! the best cd i've listened since months. Electro, house, techno : the real club' sounds : axwell, dirty south, alter ego, steve angello, mark brown (the actual n°1) etc... So, you have to buy clubbers guide 2008 you won't regret it.
